Seaside Heights

Seaside Heights is an Ocean County municipality best known in recent years as the setting for MTV’s long running television series, “Jersey Shore”.  While locals have a mixed bag of feelings about how the town was portrayed on the series, there’s much more to this iconic shore town than “Gym, tan and laundry”.  Seaside Heights has been a vacation destination since the early 1900’s, when the first carousel and covered pier were built.

Today, the Seaside Heights Boardwalk spans roughly 2 miles and is home to an abundance of games, rides and attractions for all ages.  Casino Pier and Breakwater Beach is where you’ll find roller coasters, bumper cars and water rides for the thrill seekers in your family. You can even jump on the Sky Ride, a series of open-air cable cars reminiscent of a ski lift, that takes you for a relaxing journey up and down the span of the boardwalk high above the crowds.

We can’t talk about Seaside Heights without mentioning some of the delicious food the area has to offer!  The Sawmill Café has been serving its famous boardwalk pizza since 1977.  While they do have a full bar along with indoor seating, many patrons prefer to grab a slice at the takeout window and enjoy their meal as they walk up and down the boardwalk.

Another favorite among locals is the Beachcomber Bar & Grill.  Whether you’re looking to grab a quick drink while you take in the Ocean breeze, or sit down with the family for lunch and enjoy the live entertainment, the Beachcomber has something for everyone!
