Ocean Gate is a municipality in Ocean County accounting for only .54 square miles of the county. Situated on the Toms River, the town is home to roughly 2000 residents.
Located in the center of the town on Wildwood Ave, is Jay Marles Park. The park is dedicated as a memorial to beloved local police officer, Jay Marles, who lost his life to a drunk driver in 2010. The park consists of a small playground and a basketball court.

Head to the western border of Ocean Gate and you’ll find Jeffrey’s Creek, a shallow body of water that is known to attract a variety of waterfowl. Locals spend time here relaxing and watching ducks frolic in the water. The creek provides great photo opportunities for wildlife photographers.
Even though the town is barely over a half square mile, Ocean Gate is home to a few restaurants. Start your day off with a hot cup of coffee and a donut from The O.G. Creamery. The Anchor Inn is a favorite among locals and offers a diverse menu of American food. If it’s Italian food you are craving, you’ll want to head to Linda’s Pizza on Ocean Gate Ave. The seating here is limited, so consider takeout if you’re visiting during a busy time.
