The beautiful tree-lined streets, majestic and historic homes, welcoming atmosphere, and pristine beaches have long made the Borough of Spring Lake one of New Jersey’s most lovely communities. Just don’t confuse it with Spring Lake Heights, because these two adjacent communities have identities all their own – and you’ll love both of them!
Straddling the titular lake, Spring Lake is perhaps best known for its wealth of bed and breakfasts. Destinations like the beautiful Ocean House and historic Hewitt Wellington have won awards and delighted visitors for generations, and they are just two of the town’s many quiet retreats to unwind at for a weekend. There are nice places to eat downtown. Check out A.M. Kitchen for a casual breakfast or lunch and then hit Bareli’s By The Sea in the Grand Victorian Hotel for a fine dining dinner. When you want a little more action, Jersey Shore hotspots like as Bar Anticipation and D’Jais are a short walk away. And no trip to Spring Lake is complete without a stop at 3rd Avenue Chocolate Shoppe!
Spring Lake lets you feel away from it all while still offering easy access to the rest of the region. The Garden State Parkway and Route 195 are a short drive away, putting Trenton, New York, and Philadelphia within reach. Route 35 provides access to Belmar, Ocean and more to the north, and Manasquan, Brielle and Point Pleasant to the south. There is even direct train access to Newark, New York and Hoboken with a NJ Transit train station right in town!
