Along the northern bank of the Raritan River, surrounding the Borough of Metuchen, lies the Township of Edison. The town is named after Thomas Edison, who set up his home and lab in the Menlo Park section of town in 1876. The town’s population is diverse with over 75 ethnic communities represented and has rated highly among many magazines and surveys as one of the best towns to live in not only New Jersey, but America. Route 287, US Highway 1, the New Jersey Turnpike, and Route 27, along with the NJ Transit Edison station, make it so you can get just about anywhere you want to go.

When it comes to getting a delicious meal, however, you don’t have to go far in Edison. The level of variety and accessibility of cultural cuisines that the borough offers cannot be found in many towns. One cuisine that Edison is particularly known for is Indian. A section of Oak Tree Road in Edison that continues in Iselin is also known as Little India and has over 60 restaurants. It is also home to many cultural events including the India Day Parade and a large Navratri which has been held in the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center.
The NJCEC welcomes conventions and shows of all types and sizes with over 150,000 square feet of event space that can accommodate whatever show promoters need. Over 100 events happen here every year including the New Brunswick Kennel Club show, Brick Fest Live, and the New Jersey Bridal & Wedding Expo. The Expo Center is only 15 minutes from Newark Liberty Airport and at the intersection of the NJ Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, I-287, and US_1, 9, and 35 meaning events are easy to find and easy to get to.
Edison is a great township with lots to offer including dozens of community programs, great parks, lots of charities and organizations, and fantastic people.
