Interlaken

At only 1/3 a square mile in size and with a population of just 800 or so, the Borough of Interlaken is one of the state’s smallest towns. It’s also one of New Jersey’s most perfectly located, a tiny residential oasis just blocks from the ocean but tucked away from the bustle of nearby Routes 35 and 18. You won’t find many communities like it!

Built on Deal Lake, this entirely residential community is adjacent to the always-lively Asbury Park and is just four blocks from the ocean. With the quiet shore communities of Allenhurst and Deal to the north, and not a single business in the entire town, Interlaken is as relaxing a community as you’ll find – as it was intended to be! It’s a great place to settle down!

Being a quiet town doesn’t mean Interlaken is boring. Hot shore towns like Long Branch, Belmar, and Asbury Park are a short drive away. There is ample shopping along the Route 35 corridor, while Route 18 gives you easy access to the Garden State Parkway and North Jersey and New York. With multiple golf courses also a short drive away, fishing on Shark River, and much more, it’s no wonder that once someone moves to Interlaken, they never want to leave!
