According to Niche.com the Borough of Bay Head is one of the number one places to live in Ocean County and one of the top twenty places to retire in New Jersey. The municipality is split between the mainland and the Barnegat Peninsula awarding residents a diverse landscape. It is also the southernmost train station for NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line. The railway runs all the way up to Rahway providing convenient transportation to North Jersey and New York.

Part of the Beautification Committee of Bay Head is the group called the Seaweeders Garden Club. They maintain all the planters in town and also help maintain the parks. It is comprised entirely of volunteers who offer up their time to help make and keep their towns beautiful.
The town also has their own Environmental Commission. It was founded in 1989 “for the protection, development or use of natural resources, including water resources, located within the territorial limits of the Borough.” They have frequent meetings and encourage all residents to attend and participate. In addition, they host numerous webinars covering topics like how to protect beach dunes and beach habitats. It is clear the residents of the Borough of Bay Head truly care for their town and want the best for it.
